Oh god I am so glad one other person thinks it's cool. I felt really spectacularly nerdy last night! I have to chant to myself over and over again, "It's fine as it is. You don't need to polish it. DON'T MAKE A LATIN VERSION."

Yes, very fine as it is. I think if you made a Latin version - which you should feel absolutely no obligation to do! - several people I've seen posting on the AO3 would be very happy in their pants and or heads. You are not alone, is what I'm getting at.

I am also excited and amused! Classic fandom fills me with joy.

The only book I've ever read in Latin was Liber Herbarum, which doesn't have much of a plot, but I have been thinking of working in some of the poultices in other fandoms, sort of as a surprise crossover character, eh?

But more importantly, you've made me want to read Due's translation of The Aeneid, if his writing is like yours :-D

I am not familiar with that book! Hehe, surprise crossovers, however, are awesome!

Well, as a claccisist I obviously feel that everyone should read Vergil XD Due's translation is pretty widely accepted as the new Danish standard in gymnasiet, even though some philologists criticize his language for not always being all that more modern than older translations. Despite that I'm frequently amazed at how seemingly easily he makes up the hexameters. It can be heavy stuff, but only reading (the extra cool awesome) excerpts is a valid option.
