No, I only read them once each, unless I happen to have read the original before, then I reread it. First I read the remix, and write down my reaction. Then I read the original, and write down my reaction to that. And then I consider the remix in light of the original, and write down my reaction to that.
Renaming "to read" to "unread" - what a clever idea! My toread tag is probably the most frequently used on delicious, and I have a huge folder of unread fics for when my internet connection is out.
