Haha. Hmm, but you did add depth with canon and fanon references, so even if it wasn't with the intent of being humorous, I don't think it was superficial, though yes, I suppose it was a sketch of a fic. In the best fandom tradition, I hasten to add ;-)
That's actually something I really love about SGA fandom, the tradition for crack also means a lot of authors felt comfortable writing a cool idea without working out a whole framework and surrounding plot for it. I honestly often skim for the good parts in fic, unless it's a particularly good writer - good with language, or good with humor, or good with characterization. Exposition and a lot of plot just bores me.
Anyway, about humor. I think I often communicate very badly about this, because my concept of humor is different from the way a lot of people think about it. Self-aware irony is one of my favorite kinds of humor. It may not be laugh out loud funny, but it makes me deeply happy when an author goes, yes, I know this is crack, I know this is id fic, but I'm going to go all out with it, because dammit, I love it. So there's this tension of a thing being at once silly and serious. When you add to that a contextual awareness, the allusions to genre and canon and fanon, that's very amusing to me, the way a clever and insightful observation is amusing.
