I hope no one in our shared circle thinks I'm writing this to judge them personally. But I guess not, if they were also skeptical of guilty pleasures :-)
If it has been a thing lately, that must be why I suddenly felt compelled to write about it when I saw the term used. It must have been swimming around in the depths of my subconscious.
