That line was meant to be in continuation of the above "but my friends probably look like a scary clique to everyone else!" and I very much meant to include myself in fans who are noticeably part of online fan society.
cesare is right that it is a gendered insult. I have a self-consciousness about being loud and noticeable on the internet that I'm sure ties into the gender role society has tried to force me into.
I am sorry that I have made people reading what I wrote feel that I disapprove of assertive women, and women having fun and being passionate. I should have considered my words more carefully, and should try to learn to not use self-conscious irony - at least outside of my clique ;-)
