That is a wonderful litmus test. I think I subconsciously do the same.
And I can't see your icons :-D I have a hard time following a conversation if people use more than one icon, so I like to assign an icon to people which I can reliably identify. Yours is a beautiful and charming swirl of crocheted yellow and green fabric. It reminds me of the toilet paper covers that used to be common when I was little.
