My mom thinks I'm an adorable little baby

When I was a silly teenager, my girlfriend and I took some naked pictures of each other. Hiding certain areas of the body with strategically placed objects, because we didn't want the photolab to report us for child porn, or for the technician to steal them for his private fap stash, but still, naked pictures.

When my mom saw that I had an envelope from the photolab, she looked through the photos before I had a chance to remove any of them, but that was fine with me.

A few days later, some friends of my parents were over, and my mom insisted I should show them my photos. I was initially reluctant, not wanting to bore them, but when they also said they wanted to see them, I sorted the general friends and family and interesting sights I have seen photos from the private naked me, naked girlfriend photos, and brought out the general ones.

After we had seen them all, and talked about all of them (boring), my mom was very disappointed I had removed the private ones. She said she had only prompted me to show her friends the photos because those particular ones were "So funny and cute!"

She doesn't really understand that naked pics of me taken by my girlfriend are not the same as naked pics of me when I was a tiny little baby taken by my dad. Or that we do not have the same comfort-zone, or that my privacy is not hers to grant access to. Or that when she feels cold, I do not necessarily need to put on my coat :-)

That happened many years ago, now. Her attitude has not changed at all, but I have gotten better at not telling her anything I would not want shared with all her friends as a "cute things my baby does" story.
blnchflr: Umm… Yeah. I meant to do that. (I meant to do that.)

For years and years and years and years, my mom did not understand I had no interest in holding relatives' or strangers' babies. She'd keep asking me in front of the parents if I didn't want to hold their baby - I'd decline, and she'd keep asking and KEEP ASKING. Finally she'd pull me aside and hiss how embarrassing I was.

She's stopped doing it (meanwhile, I've totally gotten into holding babies - the ones you can hand right back are still the best, though), but we clash over other things, only I can't of a current example. But yeah, like you describe, she sometimes think I must have the exact same POV as her, even when I try to explain, no.

Since I'm in a chatty mood, I have to share another naked pics story, which I think is totally cute, but you may not, and I hope you don't find it offensive. The first online people I met in analogue life was a young Dutch women and a young Dutch guy, who were dating, but at the time living in their respective countries. I visited the Dutch women first, and then travelled to visit the guy. We were on the computer, and he asked if I wanted to see pics from their vacation, and I said sure. Among the regular vacations pics were pics they'd taken of each other naked in the bathtub. He went past the pic of him super-fast, so I don't remember that at all, but he showed me the pic of his girlfriend. Whether by accident or not, and I don't think he would have shown me otherwise, all private parts were covered by arms or the bathtub. It was cute, because it was so very obvious from what he said (I have no recollection of what, exactly, he said, only the very general gist), that he was so proud of his hot and cute girlfriend, and really wanted to share that with me (we knew each other from online before I got to know her). Aww, bless.

Also: I totally try to make people put on sweaters and/or socks when I'm cold /o\ ! [personal profile] exeterlinden, if you happen by, remember that time at [personal profile] kabal42, where you arrived with wet jeans because of the rain. I hate sitting in wet jeans so much, and I really wanted you to take them off, lol! Lol, except, it was obviously none of my business whether you wore wet jeans or not, BUT IT WAS REALLY AWFUL TO THINK OF to me, sorry :o)

Heh, I had forgotten about that, actually! But I can totally empathise: my mum used to baby me, but after I finished my training as a nurse... Oh, boy, did the tables turn :O And I really try to suppress it, I do, but still, every time I visit her, I end up nagging her for some obscure thing ("drink a glass of water," "don't forget your seatbelt," "have your doctor check that mole on your hand," etc etc). I'm just glad she is gracious about it :S

Oh, and the story about the guy being dorky about his hot girlfriend is kind of cute ;)

Well, I kind of understand it now - they smell so good! And totally cute as long as I have the option to hand them back immediately at any given moment.

When I said Dutch guy, obviously I meant German o_O
