I'm going to quote a bit from your interpretation there: what I wrote is, in fact, "a rather superficial sketch of a fic". Canon and fanon references are simply shorthand ways to add a little depth to the framework. However anyone chooses to read and interpret the outcome is their prerogative, but I certainly didn't set out to write a subtle meta comedy.
